Devil’s Kitchen in January

I find you in the night blues
darkness lighting the sky
a deepening continuum
colbalt to violet to midnight
walking the water’s edge

Our flat rock becomes our moving raft
traveling with an illusion
of gliding speed on capping waves
beneath Jupiter and soft magenta

Flowing water meets frozen ice
in a symphony of windchimes
a winter version of June nightsong
where the frogs have put away their banjos
and the snow sprites have adorned their bells

and all the fireflies fall
into the sky at once
shining silver dust and diamonds
adorning Seven Sisters
and studding Orion’s belt

I adore this poem. I'm quite fond of Devil's Kitchen and the words you've chosen here speak well to my experience there.
