George Lakoff deconstructs the political communication landscape and the ways party values are reinforced through the repetition of language. Lakoff writes, "moral logic in politics, whether progressive or conservative, is based on metaphorical thought processes, applying family moral values to political moral values." Democrats need to be aware. There's a very real strategy at play that's been working since the Reagan years.

Sandra Fluke on The View
Sandra Fluke speaks intelligently and eloquently, dismisses Rush Limbaugh's (non)apology, addresses the problematics of name-calling and misogynistic silencing, and educates the public on contraception as a medical prescription that needs to be covered by insurance companies.

Building our Greenhouse
This is the side of our garage with our original greenhouse we built several years ago.
After years of collecting windows, it was time to add-on to our existing greenhouse. We cleared away old vines, and I painted the garage pink.
Sweet Gregory
I found the stained glass windows on Craigslist, from a cool woman, an artist, who told me
the windows are from her grandmother's house. She loved our greenhouse idea
and was happy they were going to a good home.
Greg scored the 5x5 panes of glass on Craigslist for free. I found the old door at a local antique shop.
We opened up the west wall of the original greenhouse to connect the two greenhouses.
I love our new greenhouse.
