November Poem
As I burrowed beneath velvet and flannel
to hide from the cold breath of november
she came with a kiss of silk on my skin
sweet breath in my ear
finger-whispers on lips
a balmy caress
unexpected
november came soft
humming warm sighs
a waterfall soaking sandstone thighs
moss thatch curled moist
painted cave yawning
tiger-eye streaking jade
obsidian enswirling copper
iron pyrite enriching bloodstone
she came
so tenderly
daffodils peek above the soil,
forsythia fully-blossom yellow,
wild violets nod their purple,
gallardias bud and burst their sunburst,
lemon thyme is chartreuse velvet,
and winter’s first day is only weeks away…
